A capsule for four days of travel

Four days is the awkward length: too long for one outfit on repeat, too short to justify a checked bag. This is the list we have settled on after getting it wrong several times.
The nine pieces
Two knits, two shirts, one pair of tailored trousers, one pair of denim, a trench, and two pairs of shoes. Everything works with everything else, which is the only rule that matters.
The rule about shoes
Wear the heavier pair on the plane. It sounds obvious. It took us years.
